Our Story

Well...our story has a new chapter!!    As you can see from our picture, we have an addition to For Heaven's Sake.   Jesse Farmer is our new bass singer.   He has a wonderful voice, and that certainly adds a new dimension to  our group!   Jesse is a very Godly man, and we are blessed beyond measure that he has come on board to sing with us.   Can't wait for you to hear him!

For Heaven's Sake is a Southern Gospel Group formed in Murray, KY more than 10 years ago by Michael and Lawanda Glover.  Michael has a passion for gospel music, and he loves to sing for the Lord. He's a great encourager of others and is dedicated to promoting southern gospel music.  Lawanda has been blessed to be a part of this journey with Michael, and she is thankful for the opportunities to sing.  FHS added Paris, Tennessee native, Terri Bruce, to the group a few years ago.  In addition to her wonderful voice, Terri brings to the group her considerable keyboard skills to add yet another dimension to FHS.

They have just released their third project and are excited that God is using them and their music to glorify Himself.

June 26

Just have to say --  we had the most wonderful weekend with the great folks at Owens Chapel Methodist Church in Melber this past Sunday.  Usually the afternoon concerts, where everyone has lunch and then we sing, don't always turn out so well because everyone is tired and wants to get home (and I don't blame them), but most of the people stayed, and we were so blessed by all of them.   We just really enjoyed our day -- from the Pastor's sermon, to the food and fellowship, and our time together for the concert.  We're already looking forward to the next time!!

We will be singing Sunday, June 25 at 1:00 p.m. at Owens Chapel Methodist Church in Melber, KY.  Hope you will make plans to join us -- it's gonna be a good day!!__________________________________________________

On Sunday, May 28, we will be at Mt. Haven Baptist Church in Mayfield, KY.

Hope you can be there!

We are working and practicing together with our new bass singer, and we are looking forward to a wonderful year.    We are preparing for our Southern Gospel Singers United Spring Convention at Yellow Creek Baptist Church in Erin, TN.    We sincerely hope you will be able to join us on one of the two nights we are there.   We have some wonderful groups in SGSU, and we are looking forward to seeing everyone and worshipping together.     We are looking forward to what God is going to do!!

For Heaven's Sake had the privilege of singing Sunday morning and Sunday evening at Ponderosa Baptist Church in Cadiz, KY.  Michael led the worship service for their revival.   All I can say is wow!   What an incredible time we have had.   Bro. Shane Board was the evangelist, and he delivered some very powerful messages.   The pastor, Bro. Norman Cotton, the music minister, Ron Yonts, and their wives, and the entire congregation were wonderful to us.  Such a friendly, loving group of people.   If you live in that area, and you are not involved in church, my advice is to go check them out!!  You will not want to leave.   What a blessing they were to us.

Happy Valentine's Day to everyone.  It should bring to mind the great love that Jesus Christ had for us, a love so great that He would give His life so that we could be saved!!  That's the ultimate love sacrifice!

We hope that you will make plans to be with us at Westside Baptist Church at 207 Robertson Road South in Murray, on Saturday evening, February 21, to hear Allison Speer in concert.  Also, singing will be several groups from Southern Gospel Singers United.   It starts at 6:00 p.m., and it should be a great evening.    Hope to see  you there!

This coming Friday, Feb. 13, we will be singing at the Lakeland Jamboree in Cadiz, KY.  If you are in the area, please come by and join us for a fun evening.   Jesse Farmer will be singing with us, and you don't want to miss hearing this guy sing!!

Last Saturday night, we sang at a benefit concert at Faith Baptist Church in Wickliffe with Faithful Three, For Him, The Liberty Boys, and Mahlon Thomas, and others.   It was not just a concert - it was a worship service.  AND we raised some money for a worthy cause.

We will be singing this Saturday at 6:00 p.m. at the Eddyville Outlet Mall.   This is their grand opening, and the new owner wanted someone to do a gospel concert there.  Come out early and shop (I certainly will!!) and then, join us at 6:00 for some gospel music! Hope to see you there.

We are looking forward to singing at Rosebower Baptist Church near Reidland, Ky on Saturday night, July 19, at 6:00 p.m.   This is a benefit concert for Ms. Alice Kehoe, who is needing a liver transplant.  We hope that you will come out to the concert and will be able to bless this lady in whatever way the Lord leads you.  The Liberty Boys and Yours Truly will be singing, too.   It should be a great evening, and we hope that you will be there to be a part of it.

We had an awesome weekend!!   On Saturday, we were invited to be a part of Eric Horner's ministry project, Operation Tank Full of Love.  We were very honored to have been a part of that event.   Eric has a heart for our military men and women, and he travels all over the United States to do concerts on military bases.  His most recent project is to raise money to buy fuel for the men and women on active duty stationed at Fort Campbell, KY.  Last year, he provided fuel to many of the people there to the tune of $37,000.00.   This year his goal is $50,000.00. If you would like to contribute to this ministry, you can go to his website, www.erichorner.com

On Sunday, we were blessed to have been a part of the homecoming service at Central Point Baptist Church in Paris, TN.   It was a day filled with good preaching, good food and then a concert afterwards.   Such nice, friendly people, and the church was just as full for the concert as it had been for the morning service.  (Believe me, that's not always the case!)  It was a wonderful day and a wonderful weekend!

We are excited to introduce to you Jesse and Nancy Farmer.   We are so very blessed that Jesse is now singing with us.  He's a wonderful bass singer, and he and his wife are a great addition to our team.  Jesse sang professionally for several years while living in Texas.   We have done a few dates already with Jesse, and we are looking forward to many, many more.   We are thankful and blessed!!   When you hear him sing and hear his testimony, we are certain you will agree!
